New York Part II

Hello readers,
I bring you more of my trip to New york:




While it was bitterly cold, I greatly admired anyone who managed to still display a sense of style. Trends I noticed were brightly colored coats and Elmer Fudd-esque knit hats with ear flaps. Above I managed to catch a picture of some lovely ladies all sporting red coats. ( I still cannot believe I found them all at once.)


I wish I could have gotten a picture from the front of the young man above with the duffel bag. He had pale skin, a strong jaw, and bright red hair which he set off with the dark colors of his peacoat, jeans, and circle scarf. While I only glimpsed him momentarily, I could tell that he had a very simple yet elegant style as shown in his black leather boots and the way he could carry a duffel bag.



The people above reminded me of an American Eagle ad with their coordinated hats and furry coats. (click here for photos from their winter look book.)



I then went to see the musical Finian's rainbow which was incredible. If anyone is in to musical theater- I highly suggest you see it. The plot was a bit bizarre but the music was very powerful and truly unique. the actors were incredible, and there was not a single dud in the role.






And then the snowstorm hit.

These are some very poor quality pictures of what I wore. Although I was wearing merely stockings on my legs (without even leggings underneath) I was very toasty because of my doc martens which have the incredible power to protect my feet from all the cold and wet that snow involves.

New York Part I

Hello there,
I recently went to New York with my family for a brief vacation. I tried to post while I was there, but the Internet was all wonky, and refused to allow me to do anything I wanted. However I have many photos and stories for you all, so I hope you enjoy the sights.

We took a very long train ride up


I read the new yorker Magazine



We walked past Times Square on our way to dinner. It is one of the few places in the world where I can appreciate the beauty of the man-made. The incredible number of lights and people never fails to amaze and overwhelm me. There is truly no place in the world like New York City.

Hey There. Remember Me?

Well then. I supposed I should have informed you dear readers earlier, but I got ahead of myself and took my (extended) holiday break before schedule. I hope you're all enjoying the holiday season/time off . I've been sitting around eating too much food with my lovely family and laughing at my father when he gets drunk (he tends to accuse people of being Communist when he's had a bit too much to drink...), but as a treat, here's a quickie photo of the shoes my fabulous cousin got me:


I wish you merry eating/drinking/sleeping! And as a warning, I wouldn't expect any new posts (well, from me anyway) until after the new year. Although with school out, I can't imagine that my brain would really want to use up any energy forming any semblance to coherent sentences ;-)

Missed me?

Hey there readers,

I know you must hate me very much at the moment. Please let me say the past two weeks have been some of the worst in my life, filled with work and outstanding obligations. But I am back. And I promise you tons and tons and tons and tons of posts and photos in the upcoming days and weeks.

My ridiculous modeling here is due to one friend who insisted I act very angry, then very bored, then very hot, etc.

I was very proud of this outfit today. It gave me an excuse to wear this fantastic hat again.

Her photos are incredible, ranging from poignant to winsome. Her skill lies in her phenomenal ability to make one empathize with a tiny cardboard figure. To read an interview of her go here.

Ah I might as well jump. Jump!

Hello there readers,

This week has been absolutely ghastly. I am entirely inundated with work. But I hope you know that I love you enough to take the time out of my day to photograph myself jumping around like and idiot. You're welcome.

Because this week has been so atrocious I stole this sweater from my father. I am excessively exhausted, and my primary concern is just being comfortable. I really love every aspect of this sweater: the color, material, the button detailing, and the elbow patches. I especially love the elbow patches.
